I leave for Philadelphia Feb 22 for a brief orientation before we head out. The big flight leaves Feb 26 where I will travel to Rwanda with the other volunteers to begin a 3 month in-country orientation. I have no idea what this will entail other than the language classes I will be starting in order to come to grips with Kinyarwanda, and to help brush up on my French. My exact project and location is unknown since this will be assigned during this orientation. The project coordinators come to meet with the volunteers to get an idea of who would be best suited for their particular project. The basic idea that I know so far is that I'll be in a public health capacity working with an HIV/AIDS clinic.

Rwanda, here I come
So, I've decided that since I won't have access to my normal means of communication, I might as well try to cram everything into one location, and thus the blog is born. I've never had a blog before so bear with me on this. Most likely updates on here will be far between seeing as I'm not expecting to be anywhere near a reliable or available internet source, so I apologize upfront. This is mainly a place to give a general idea as to my time in Rwanda, and hopefully an area where I can get a few photos up.

About Me

- Kerry Horton
- I like to experience anything and everything possible. I believe the life is meant to be exciting, new, and something to look forward to rather than just something to grin and bear. Whether the experience is skydiving, camping in Idaho, or simply watching the sun reflect off a lake, it's worth it.
